MOSCOW, April 9 (KUNA) -- Three Russian security personnel and three
insurgents were killed in separate clashes in North Caucasus region of
Ingushetia on Friday, Russia's Interfax news agency reported.
A female suicide bomber wearing an explosive belt approached a group of
Russian security personnel manning the checkpoint and opened fire at them,
Interfax said, citing Russian security sources.
The security officers fired back at the 26 years-old woman, identified as
Marina Yevloyev whose explosive belt exploded.
The suicide bomber intended to assassinate security chief of the city of
Nazran, but instead she killed one of his military companions.
Meanwhile, a confrontation occurred between military officers and three
insurgents who were hiding at one of the houses in Acjevio town which resulted
in the death of the three insurgents and the injury of three security
personnel.
Further, two Russian officers were killed by a remotely-controlled bomb,
Interfax added. (end).
