PARIS, April 5 (KUNA) -- Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan is due
to arrive in the French capital tomorrow for an official two-day visit where
he will discuss with French officials the prospects of Turkey's joining the
European Union (EU).
Erdogan will meet French President Nicolas Sarkozy and Prime Minister
Francois Fillon, the French foreign ministry said in a statement Monday.
The statement noted that Erdogan's last visit to the country was in July,
2008, adding that the Turkish premier will also meet French Senate President
Gerard Larcher and executives of some leading French companies at the French
Businessmen's Association (MEDEF).
The statement said the Turkish premier's visit comes amid exceptional
bilateral relations which will be bolstered on the political, economic, and
cultural fields.
During the meetings, the two sides will also delve into Turkey's EU
membership, including international issues, among the peace process in the
Middle East, Iran's nuclear program, and developments in Afghanistan, the
