ISLAMABAD, March 3 (KUNA) -- A soldier was killed and another was wounded
on Wednesday when militants attacked a security checkpost in South Waziristan
tribal agency of Pakistan, bordering Afghanistan, said officials.
Taliban militants opened indiscriminate fire at a security checkpost in
Ladha district of the agency, said security officials. They told KUNA that the
firing left one soldier killed and other wounded.
Officials said that the militants managed to flee, adding that a search
operation was being conducted to arrest the militants. (end).
