IRBIL, Feb 22 (KUNA) -- Three Iraqi policemen including an officer, two
Iraqi soldiers, and a civilian were killed in separate violent incidents in
the cities of Mosul and Kirkuk in northern Iraq.
A source in the Iraqi police in Mosul told KUNA that unknown gunmen
attacked one of the control points of the Iraqi police in al-Sergkhana region
near the Great Mosque in central Mosul, killing two policemen.
In another incident insurgents attacked one of the other Iraqi army
checkpoints in Sumar neighborhood southeast of Mosul, killing two army
members, source added.
Meanwhile, Kirkuk police source told KUNA that unknown gunmen opened fire
and killed Kirkuk police Lt. Gen.
The unidentified gunmen opened fire and killed an Iraqi civilian on the
main road south Kirkuk.(end)
