RABAT, Jan 31 (KUNA) -- The 256th session of the Islamic Development Bank
(IDB) executive board kick-started here Sunday, focusing on the finance of
development projects in Muslim countries.
During the meeting, the IDB board is expected to approve fresh financial
contributions to several development projects in IDB member states.
It is also predicted to consent to the provision of donations to several
Muslim communities in non-member states with a view to contributing to
achieving economic and social development in Muslim nations in general.
A seminar on Morocco's experiment in the field of erecting small dams is to
be held on the sidelines of the IDB meeting on February 1-2, with
representatives from 17 member states and three regional organizations to be
attending.
Working within the framework of the IDB, the Islamic Solidarity Fund for
Development, has begun its activities in Morocco through a water project
costing USD 10 million, as part of an IDB-bankrolled development project in
Morocco at a cost of USD 62 million. (end)
