CAIRO, Jan 5 (KUNA) -- The General Authority for Information in Egypt
reiterated on Tuesday that the construction works on the border with the Gaza
Strip are not of a wall and would not be a barrier because Rafah crossing has
been open on a permanent basis for humanitarian cases, sick people, pilgrims,
students and others.
Head of authority Ismail Khairat told reporters that the authority has been
following regularly the media, which have been defaming Egypt's positions and
stances continuously saying that the authority has refuted such allegations
through the provision of documented and irrefutable truth.
He added that the authority has played an important role in the face of the
media campaign which targeted the Egyptian decision on engineering
constructions being carried out by Egypt on its border with Gaza, as well as
what is being said of the allegations and lies about the "Lifeline Convoy 3".
He added that the authority has issued a working paper in Arabic and
English that included various aspects of the Egyptian stance towards the
construction on the Gaza's borders, saying that the paper has been circulated
to foreign correspondents in Egypt and Egyptian foreign media bureaus. (end).
