DAMASCUS, Dec 26 (KUNA) -- Syria launched its first economic arbitration
center, for protection of local, Arab and foreign investments.
The local Tishreen newspaper, in its Saturday issue, quoted Chairman of the
Syrian Investment Authority Dr. Ahmad Abdulaziz as saying that this meets the
requirements of the Arab and foreign investors, and the economic institutions.
He added that the large number of investments in the country, coming to 260
projects, requires the establishment of such centers to secure their progress.
Chairman of the Arbitration Center, lawyer Ghassan Wahbi, said that the
center was established according to law number (4) of the year 2008, which
came as a result of economic openness and the growth of investment and
business activities in Syria. (end)
