BAGHDAD, Dec 22 (KUNA) -- The US forces in Iraq said Tuesday they have
arrested, in collaboration with the Iraqi troops, four members of what they
considered an Iranian-backed armed group named "Hezbollah Battalions in Iraq."
A joint US-Iraqi force made the arrests during a crackdown aimed to capture
a leading member of the group, backed by the Iranian Revolutionary Guard
Corps, the military said in a statement here.
The targeted man is wanted for involvement in the smuggling and
distribution of munitions in order to carry out terrorist attacks in the
capital city of Baghdad, it added. (end)
