ISLAMABAD, Nov 18 (KUNA) -- Pakistani security forces Wednesday killed six
more militants in Waziristan operation and recovered huge cache of arms and
ammunition during search operation.
The military in a press statement said that in last twenty-four hours about
six militants were killed and eight soldiers including two officers were
wounded in the ongoing operation against Taliban militants in South Waziristan
tribal agency, along Afghan border.
It said that forces conducted sanitization of Adire Mela and Khazhankai
villages in Jandola town and recovered huge quantity of Arms and Ammunitions
including 12.7 mm gun. Eight bunkers were destroyed and a huge cache of arms
and ammunition was also recovered during search operation in Razmak and Makeen
areas, said the statement.
While the soldiers were patrolling Jandola-Chagmalai-Siplatoi route, said
the statement, a landmine exploded that wounded three soldiers including an
officer.
Also, in the Shakia village, said the statement further, militants fired
with small arms at forces that wounded five others including an officer. In
retaliatory fire, it added, six militant were killed.
Pakistani forces launched operation in South Waziristan region, the hub of
Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), after a dozen militants attacked General
Headquarters (GHQ) in Rawalpindi earlier in October, killing six soldiers.
Near a hundred militants have been killed and the military has claimed
achieving unprecedented success within a short span of time. It may be
mentioned here that TTP has been blamed for wave of suicide attacks across the
