ISLAMABAD, Sept 18 (KUNA) -- A district mayor was killed and two others
were wounded in a bomb explosion in a Pakistani northern town Friday night,
said police.
A bomb ripped through a small mosque in Hangu town, known to be hotbed of
sectarian violence, police sources told KUNA.
Sources said that the explosion killed District mayor Khan Afzal and
wounded two others. They said the explosion had already been planted inside
the mosque.
This was the second explosion reported in region since morning.
Earlier, a suicide bomb in the adjacent Kohat town killed at least 33
people and wounded near 60 others. (end)
