RAMALLAH, Sept 9 (KUNA) -- The Kuwait Red Crescent Society (KRCS) is
continuing its many aid and support activities benefiting the people in Gaza
Strip throughout the holy month of Ramadan and the special projects include
distribution daily bread, food packages, new attire for Eid, and holding mass
Iftar (breaking fast) banquets.
The KRCS held an Iftar banquet in Jericho and Tulkarem for orphans and
people with special needs and poor families.
Representative in Gaza Redha Khuther said some 16,000 food packages were
distributed among people who are unemployed, of poor income, of special needs,
widowed women, orphans, and people affected by the Israeli apartheid wall.
She added a first-time project is called "Al-Ragheef" and involves an
agreement with bakeries in different areas to provide bread for families in
need in exchange for coupons distributed by charities that handle distribution
of the society's aid resources. (end)
