MOSCOW, Aug 28 (KUNA) -- Five militants were killed in Russia's North
Caucasus area in clashes between Russian forces and banned military groups.
Vesti Russian television channel said Friday that three of the militants
were killed in the capital of Dagestan, Makhachkala.
It added that the other two blew themselves up after refusing to hand
themselves to Russian forces in Chechnya, injuring six people including three
officers.
Banned military groups, in North Caucasus in general and in Chechnya,
Ingushetia, and Dagestan in particular, recently increased their attacks
against official security bodies. (end)
