BAGHDAD, Aug 24 (KUNA) -- A blast and fire in two buses on Monday resulted
in the death and injury of 35 people, among them women and children.
One of the buses was en route from Baghdad to Kut when it struck an
explosive device on the road near the city of Noamania, causing immediate
casualties, a police source told KUNA.
The other bus caught fire near the area of Aldabooni , about 40 km north of
the city of Kut. Foul play was suspected.
As a result of both incidents, 15 people were killed and 20 others were
injured.
All casualties were whisked off to al-Zaharaa Hospital located in the province
of Wasit. (end)
