BAGHDAD, Aug 21 (KUNA) -- A car packed with explosives went off northwest
of the northern city of Mosul on Friday killing four troops of the Iraqi Army
including two officers and wounding one soldier, police said.
The explosion targeted a military patrol in the region of Zamar-Wa-Rabiaa,
the police said.
Earlier on Friday, two Iraqi civilians were killed and 22 others were
wounded when an explosive device was detonated at a vegetable market in
southern Baghdad.
A police source said an explosive device had been planted below a cargo
vehicle, which was carrying products into the market.
The blast inflicted extensive damage in the commercial market. (end)
