ISAF says its three soldiers killed in Afghanistan

KABUL, Aug 21 (KUNA) -- The International Security Assistance Force (ISAF) announced the death of its three soldiers in separate incidents of violence on Friday.
A statement from ISAF headquarters here said two of its members were killed yesterday in southern Afghanistan.
Their patrol struck an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) killing one soldier. As the area was being secured by members of the patrol, another IED detonation occurred causing a second service member to lose his life.
The death of the third soldier occured in eastern Afghanistan as a result of an IED blast.
The multinational force did not disclose name of the third slain soldier, but US spokesperson Brian Naranjo confirmed the service member was from the US troops. (end) gk.tg KUNA 211449 Aug 09NNNN
