MOSCOW, July 18 (KUNA) -- Georgia on Saturday accused Russia of mobilizing
military forces in Abkhazia, which declared independence from Georgia last
year.
, Russia injected 2,000 military forces in Abkhazia, accompanied by special
aircrafts of Tu-22 and Sukhoi-25, in addition to a large group of reporters,
Paata Davitaya, Vice Speaker of the Georgian Parliament was quoted by INTERFAX
news agency here as saying.
Davitaya expected also provocation from Abkhazia, noting that he had
briefed the EU representatives in Tbilisi about this information, which the
Russian side chose not to comment on.
Russian forces had militarily-intervened in favor of the Republic of South
Ossetia, which was subjected to a large-scaled attack by Georgia last August.
Georgia lost the war, whereas Abkhazia and South Ossetia both declared
independence; which Moscow recognized and established diplomatic relations
