BAGHDAD, July 11 (KUNA) -- External powers are trying to instigate
insurgency and ethnicity among Iraqis to sabotage the upcoming Iraqi
parliamentary elections, Iraqi Prime Minister Nouri Al-Maliki said Saturday.
Iraqis, regardless of their backgrounds, should not sink into the chaos
that supporters of the former regime are trying to create, Al-Maliki said
during his speech at a tribal gathering.
Iraq will surely overcome these challenges, he said, adding that
parliamentary elections are the pillar to Iraq's reconstruction.
Elections due in January would be a charged with positive experiences and
"negative challenges," he said. (end)
