Iraqi Parliament Speaker Iyad Al-Samarraie
KUWAIT, July 5 (KUNA) -- Iraqi Parliament is determined to establish strong relations with Kuwait, and work on resolving differences, Parliament Speaker Iyad Al-Samarraie said Sunday.
Al-Samarraei visit to Kuwait "aims at creating a positive atmosphere for both countries to resolve diffreneces," Speaker of Iraqi Parliament said in a press conference upon his arrival in Kuwait with the accompanying delegation.
He thanked Kuwait for its invitation as he hoped that the visit would help boost bilateral relations, and noted that "brotherly" relations are the pillar of strong ties.
As for opting from UN's Chapter 7, Al-Samarraei said that Iraq recognizes that it has to fulfill its obligations first; however, "that needs time," he added.
Iraqi parliament is willing to build strong relations with Kuwait and resolve differences caused by the former regime of Saddam Hussein, he said.
