GAZA, June 17 (KUNA) -- Palestinian National Liberation Movement (Fatah)
made an agreement on Wednesday with the Islamic militant group (Hamas) to hand
over lists of political prisoners in the West Bank and Gaza Strip to the
Egyptian mediator.
Hamas leader Ibrahim Abu Al-Naja said in a press statement distributed here
today that the two movements would hold further meetings to resolve the file
of the political prisoners.
Al-Naja, who visited families of the Fatah members held by the Hamas
security authorities in Gaza, said a recent meeting between the two groups
resulted in an agreement on stopping political arrests and all forms of media
incitement.
Fatah and Hamas agreed, during a meeting of the reconciliation committee in
Gaza Strip and the West Bank two days ago, to put an end to political arrests
between the two sides and exchanging lists of political prisoners in
preparation for their release.(end)
