KUWAIT, May 27 (KUNA) -- The mega projects, Boubyan port and Sheikh Jaber Al-Ahmad causeway, "will see the light" soon after referral to the Central Tenders Committee, a senior official said on Wednesday.
Minister of Public Labor and Minister of State for Municipal Affairs Dr. Fadel Safar said in a statement to KUNA the venture for the development of the Boubyan port became ready for submission to the commission and would be declared in the gazette, adding that the other project was referred to the commission.
The tenders committee has inquired about certain matters related to the bridge venture, the minister said, indicating that the relevant authorities would reply to the quries ahead of tendering as soon as possible.
The causeway project is aimed at shortening the distance between the heart of Kuwait with Al-Sabbiah from 104 kilometers to 37.5 km. It is designed to be built across the Kuwait bay. (end) nnd.na.rk KUNA 271451 May 09NNNN
