Editor in Chief of "Democracy" magazine Dr. Hala Mustafa noted this success is just another step on an honorable march marked with many great achievements by Kuwaiti women, particularly in the fields of literature, arts, poetry, and much more.
She said "Kuwait proves, once and again, the unique democratic state it is" and continues to serve as an example of an active and influential party in the region.
This particular victory is all the more valuable since women had to swim against social, political, and belief systems' currents to realize their political right, she pointed out.
Editor in Chief of "Seasons" magazine, Huda Wasfi, meanwhile stressed this debut is a sign of political maturity and would bring more energy and vitality to the Kuwaiti parliament, which she considered as "more representative" now.
The professor at Ein Shams University, she added that her observations proved the Kuwaiti parliament was an active and most sophisticated one in the Arab region, praising the manner in which it addressed Arab, regional, Islamic, and international issues and concerns.
She concluded by saying "The State of Kuwait is living an atmosphere of praiseworthy political freedom and democratic experience, although it is one of the smallest Arab states in terms of territory and population."(end) mab.wsa KUNA 180920 May 09NNNN
