Jordan, Egypt agree on outlines of Arab vision for Mideast peace -- official

CAIRO, May 5 (KUNA) -- Foreign Minister Ahmad Abdul-gheit said here Tuesday that the Egyptian and Jordanian sides had agreed on the outlines of the Arab's vision for peace in the region and the means to convey the Arab plan for the US administration.
During a press conference with Jordanian counterpart Ali Nasser Jawda, Abdul-gheit said that talks between Jordan's King Abdullah II and President Hosni Mubarak had discussed the results of King Abdullah's recent visit to the US.
Regarding the Arab cards in the Mideast peace situation, Abdul-gheit said that it was important for the US administration to talk Israeli into accepting the Arab peace initiative as a solution to the regional dilemma, saying that Arabs and Palestinians requests were rational and not overblown out of proportion.
Abdul-gheit also discussed the Iranian nuclear file, saying that the US should deal with the matter through compensations and diplomacy. Giving Iran an alternative to its nuclear program would seal the deal and end the problem over the issue, said the Egyptian Minister.
Jawda said on his part King Abdullah had conveyed to Mubarak the results of his visit to the US, adding that the Jordanian Monarch was keen on discussing such vital matters with his fellow Arab leaders.
The meeting between the two leaders had affirmed that it was time to carry on the current peace process which more efficient than embarking on new plans for peace, pointed out the Minister who affirmed that Arabs had to focus on the two states solution as the only mean for peace.
