BAGHDAD, April 4 (KUNA) -- Iraqi authorities have located and confiscated
large amounts of precious jewelleries sent in for securing funds for terrorist
groups, the government television reported on Saturday.
The television broadcast pictures of the jewels being displayed to Prime
Minister Nouri Al-Maliki by Defense Minister Abdel Qader Al-Obeidi at the
premier's bureau in the capital.
Al-Maliki said the previous items had been sent in from a neighboring
country to fund the terrorist groups.
The smuggled jewelleries were discovered in the northern governorate of
Ninawa. (end)
