Algeria''s blast casualties'' toll rises with 3 killed, 10 injured

ALGIERS, March 7 (KUNA) -- Three people were killed and 10 others wounded in the suicide attack that targeted a guard post in Tadmite district, 110 kilometers east of Algiers earlier on Saturday.
Security sources said that the attack resulted in the killing of a security man, an old lady and a civilian. The civilian was severely injured and had passed away at the Hospital of Tizi Ouzou, whereas 10 others were injured in the attack; mostly security personnel.
The suicide bomber, believed to be belonging to Al-Qaeda in the Islamic Maghreb, conducted the attack by detonating an explosive belt that was wrapped around him, local sources said.
The attacks took place after two days of the Algerian authorities' deployment of approximately 160,000 policemen to ensure security of the presidential election campaign on April 9.
Algerian Minister of Interior Noureddine Zerhouni, said in press releases two days ago that the terrorist operations would not affect the presidential elections in the country. (pickup previous) ft.mao KUNA 071912 Mar 09NNNN
