UNITED NATIONS, Feb 27 (KUNA) -- Russian UN envoy Vitaly Churkin on Friday
said his country is "not part" of the European intention to increase sanctions
on Iran following the IAEA's latest report on Tehran's nuclear activities, and
suggested to wait for the US-Iranian dialogue.
"If they have any discussions to that effect, we are not part of them. But
we have been talking with our partners in this group of six (P5 + one) about
the need to produce incentives for Iranians to cooperate on the basis of the
well-known package of the six," Churkin told reporters in answer to a question.
The British media reported yesterday that the E3 - UK, France and Germany -
are preparing a new list of sanctions against Iran.
The other three are the US, China and Russia.
"Of course, everybody is looking forward to the start of dialogue between
the US and Iran," he added in reference to what US President Barack Obama had
proposed. (end)
