KUWAIT, Jan 27 (KUNA) -- President of Bahrain Football Federation Sheikh
Salman Bin Ibrahim Al-Khalifah announced his determination to run for the
membership of the Executive office of the International Football Federation
(FIFA) to represent Asia, next May.
In remarks to KUNA Tuesday, Sheikh Salman who is currently visiting Bangkok
said Bahrain Football Federation decided to nominate him to take up Asia's
seat.
He said he already received a number of congratulations from Asian nations
willing to support him in this regard, pointing out that he is communicating
with many countries to guarantee as many votes as possible in the FIFA
elections.
Sheikh Slaman expressed his gratitude to those who supported him, and said
he valued their great trust.
Sheikh Salman has been the President of Bahrain Football Federation since
2002 and he brought positive reforms to his country's football team.(end)
