Kuwaiti cabinet takes oath before Amir

 KUWAIT, Jan 12 (KUNA) -- The new cabinet, headed by His Highness the Prime Minister Sheikh Nasser Al-Mohammad Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, took the constitutional oath before His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah on Monday.
The Amiri Decree forming the government stipulates that the cabinet be headed by His Highness the Prime Minister Sheikh Nasser Al-Mohammad Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, and comprises 14 ministers: -- Jaber Mubarak Al-Hamad Al-Sabah - First Deputy Premier and Defense Minister -- Dr. Mohammad Sabah Al-Salem Al-Sabah - Deputy Premier, Foreign Minister and Acting Oil Minister -- Faisal Mohammad Al-Hajji Bukhadhour - Deputy Premier and State Minister for Cabinet Affairs -- Ahmad Yaqoub Baqer Al-Abdullah - Minister of Commerce and Industry and State Minister for National Assembly Affairs -- Bader Fahad Ali Al-Duwaila - Minister of Social Affairs and Labor -- Lieutenant General Jaber Khalid Jaber Al-Sabah - Minister of Interior -- Hussein Nasser Al-Huraiti - Minister of Justice and Minister of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs -- Roudhan Abdulaziz Al-Roudhan - Health Minister -- Sabah Al-Khalid Al-Hamad Al-Sabah - Information Minister -- Dr. Fadhil Safar Ali Safar - Minister of Public Works and State Minister for Municipal Affairs -- Mustafa Jassem Al-Shimali - Finance Minister -- Dr. Moudhi Abdulaziz Al-Humoud - State Minister for Housing Affairs and State Minister for Development Affairs -- Nabil Khalaf Saeed bin Salama - Minister of Electricity and Water and Minister of Communications -- Nouriya Subeeh Barrak Al-Subeeh - Minister of Education and Minister of Higher Education.
The decree also stipulated the notification of National Assembly Speaker of this decree, which comes into effect as of the date of issuance, today, and is to be published in the official gazette.

 His Highness the Amir gave a speech on this occasion, in which he congratulated His Highness Sheikh Nasser for willing to bear the great responsibility of the Premiership and congratulated the cabinet members for accepting their posts and sharing the burden and responsibilities of the government.
His Highness the Amir said that he had promised the Kuwaiti people to guide the country toward prosperity and development, noting that the people would be following closely as this unfolded.
"As the new government, you have a great responsibility, and I am confident that you will be bearing it well with your competence and capabilities," he said, noting that this could not be achieved without working together as one team to place plans and strategies in harmony.
"We want the citizens to have a sense of their rights and responsibilities, namely respect for the law, hard work, and maintaining what has so far been achieved by the state and protecting state property," he said.
He wished the ministers success.
On his part, His Highness Sheikh Nasser gave a speech in which he thanked His Highness the Amir for placing confidence in him.
"We realize the great responsibility that we have been tasked with, and the difficult phase that we are going through and the concerns, challenges and entitlements it entails," he said.
He pledged to continue to exert efforts and make sacrifice, saying that the ministers would make the directives of His Highness the Amir the beacon that lights their way toward Kuwait's prosperity and advancement

  The oath-taking ceremony was attended by Minister of Amiri Diwan Affairs Sheikh Nasser Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, Deputy Minister of Amiri Diwan Affairs Sheikh Ali Jarrah Al-Sabah, Amiri Diwan Undersecretary Ibrahim Mohammad Al-Shatti, Cabinet Secretary General Abdullatif Al-Roudhan, Director of the Amir's Office Ahmad Fahad Al-Fahad, and Director of Amiri Protocol Sheikh Khalid Al-Abdullah Al-Sabah Al-Nasser Al-Sabah.
