KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 20 (KUNA) -- The upcoming visit by Advisor at the Diwan
of the Kuwaiti Premier, Ismael Al-Shatti, to Cambodia, Laos and Myanmar aims
at activating agreements signed between the Gulf state and each of these three
countries, said the Gulf state's Ambassador to Thailand Hafeeth Al-Ajmi on
Wednesday.
Al-Ajmi, who is also his country's non-resident ambassador to Cambodia and
Laos, told KUNA in a telephone statement, "Advisor Al-Shatti and a high-level
technical delegation will discuss during their visit details of the signed
agreements in order to begin implementing them."
He added that the delegation would also be briefed on laws and regulations
in Cambodia, Laos and Myanmar, in preparation for boosting bilateral trade
exchange and economic cooperation.
The delegation will group representatives from the Foreign Ministry, Kuwait
Investment Authority, Kuwait Petroleum Corporation, Kuwait Fund for Arab
Economic Development, the Civil Aviation Department, and other bodies.
He said these representatives would place the basis for implementing the
agreements signed on the sidelines of the Asian tour of His Highness the Prime
Minister of Kuwait Sheikh Nasser Al-Mohammad Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah.
Al-Ajmi described these agreements as "a turning point in the track of
bilateral relations" between Kuwait and each of the three countries.
Kuwait had signed a number of agreements with the three countries,
pertaining to the encouragement and protection of investment; economic,
technical and commercial cooperation; political deliberations; tourism
cooperation; open skies agreements; and cooperation in the agricultural
sector. (end)
