BEIRUT, Aug 11 (KUNA) -- Lebanese Minister of Interior Ziad Baroud received
his Kuwaiti counterpart Sheikh Sheikh Jaber Al-Khalid Al-Sabah here on Monday.
The meeting focused on security issues of common concern and the bilateral
ties in genera, Sheikh Jaber, now on a visit to Lebanon, told KUNA.
"This is my first meeting with Baroud since the formation of the new
Lebanese cabinet.
"The cabinet will seek the confidence of the Lebanese parliament later
today," he said, voicing best wishes for the success of the cabinet in
discharging its mission and enhancing the security of Lebanon.
"I have discussed with Baroud the situation of the Kuwaiti community in
Lebanon, who are mainly tourists and students, and he assured me of the
efforts being made by the Lebanese government to ensure their convenience,"
Sheikh Jaber disclosed.
"Kuwait and Lebanon, which have many things in common, seek to enhance
security cooperation through exchanging high-level visits," he added.
The meeting was also attended by Charge D'Affaires of Kuwait Embassy in
Beirut Mohammad Faisal Al-Meteiri. (end)
