RAMALLAH, Aug 2 (KUNA) -- Palestinian security forces dispersed a
demonstration held by Hizb ut-Tahrir (Islamic Party of Liberation) in the city
of Ramallah, whose 3000-strong supporters called for a worldwide Islamic
Caliphate state, on Saturday.
The march was also intended to mark the memory of the end of the Ottoman
Caliphate rule in Hebron.
A number of people were injured while three were arrested in the security
forces' raid.
In Tulkarim, north of the West Bank, security forces dispersed another
demonstration by the Islamic Liberation Party injuring others in the incident.
Palestinian officials previously warned the public not to hold celebrations
in fear of the escalating violence the region has currently witnessed. (end)
