Kuwaiti PM embarks on Asian tour

KUWAIT, July 24 (KUNA) -- His Highness the Prime Minister Sheikh Nasser Al-Mohammad Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah headed to Brunei on Thursday, the first stop of an Asian tour that will also see him in Japan, South Korea, Cambodia, Loas, Myanmar and Thailand.
His Highness Sheikh Nasser said the tour built upon the efforts and tour of His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, at the time when he was premier. Its goals fall in line with the directives of His Highness the Amir for transforming Kuwait into a regional and international financial center.
He lauded the strong relations that tied Kuwait with the countries that he was scheduled to visit in all fields, reiterating his country's keenness for boosting these ties and consolidating efforts that guaranteed the achievement of the tour's objectives.
His Highness the Prime Minister added that Kuwait, in line with its ambitious development plan, seeks to benefit from the developmental experiences of other countries, noting that Southeast Asian states were a clear model for fast-paced development.
His Highness the Prime Minister was bid farewell at the airport by First Deputy Prime Minister and Defense Minister Sheikh Jaber Mubarak Al-Hamad Al-Sabah, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Dr. Mohammad Sabah Al-Salem Al-Sabah, Deputy Prime Minister and State Minister for Cabinet Affairs Faisal Mohammad Al-Hajji, members of the ruling family, ministers, governors, the ambassadors of South Korea and Thailand, the Japanese charge d'affaires, top personnel of the army, police and national guard, as well as top officials of the state and the Premier's Diwan.
