KUWAIT, April 8 (KUNA) -- Nine poultry companies, 273 poultry shops were
given compensations of KD nine million by the Public Authority for Agriculture
Affairs and Fish Resources (PAAAFR) for damages caused by the bird flu disease.
PAAAFR Deputy Director for Finance and Administration Affairs Hanadi
Ghuloum said that the authority compensated these institutions due to
financial losses in the periods between February and July of 2007.
She affirmed that PAAAFR would stand with those who suffered losses from
the dilemma, indicating that the pervious bans on poultry products were to
protect citizens' health and welfare. (end)
