KABUL, Jan 18 (KUNA) -- Seven soldiers of the NATO-led International
Security Assistance Force (ISAF) were injured in roadside bomb blasts in
southern Afghanistan, officials said on Friday.
The blast happened in Panjwayee district of Kandahar, a police officer told
KUNA. However, NATO officials in Kabul said they did not know about the
explosions and injuries to the soldiers.
Afghanistan's Kandahar province is the former stronghold of Taliban
militants. Mostly Canadian troops are stationed in the province as part
of the NATO's peacekeeping and counter-insurgency operations there. (end)
