LONDON, Jan 13 (KUNA) -- A senior British government official on Sunday has
warned that there was no time for "triumphal" attitude regarding the situation
in Iraq.
Foreign and Commonwealth Office Minister Lord Malloch-Brown said in a press
release that the war and its subsequent occupation of the country had been "a
terrible episode for everybody".
Lord Malloch-Brown's warning followed comments from US President George W.
Bush, who claimed that hope was returning to the country following a US troop
surge last year.
Lord Malloch-Brown said that at the start of the conflict in Iraq, he had
hoped for a swift resolution to the situation, adding that while there was a
great caution in the United Nations about this, nobody wished it to fail. (end)
