Iraq''s Mosul governor survives IED blast

IRBIL, Dec 25 (KUNA) -- Duraid Mohammad Kshmoula, governor of Mosul province, survived Tuesday an assassination attempt when an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) exploded near his convoy in the city.
A security source told KUNA that the governor was safe but two of his escorts were injured due to the incident occurring at Gabat area, north of the city.
On the wake of the new security improvement in the country, terrorists decided to remind Iraq's government and people of their presence, striking hard with a booby-trapped at attack at Beiji area today.
