NEW DELHI, Nov 24 (KUNA) -- Governor of Western Indian state of Goa, SC
Jamir, Saturday escaped an attempt on his life when suspected insurgents
attacked his convoy in his home state of Nagaland.
The assassination attempt was executed by unidentified insurgents in
Mokokchung district of India's northeastern state of Nagaland this morning,
Press Trust of India reported, quoting an official of Nagaland police.
Jamir, also former Chief Ministerof Nagaland, escaped unhurt in the grenade
attack. However, a security personnel accompanying him was injured in the
attack, the news agency said.
This is the fourth attempt on Jamir's life in the last two decades. (end)
