NEW DELHI, Nov 22 (KUNA) -- As many as six insurgents belonging two
outfits, including two self-styled "commanders" of Harkatul-Jehadi-Islami
(HUJI), surrendered before security forces in Awantipora district of the
Indian-administered Jammu and Kashmir Thursday.
The insurgents were active in Kashmir's Doda district for the last 5-15
years, Press Trust of India reported, quoting an Indian Army official.
They surrendered their arms before the corps commander of Indian Army's 15
corps Lt. Gen. AS Sekhon today, the news agency said.
While five of the insurgents belonged to HUJI, one belonged to Hizbul
Mujahideen, the official said. (end)
