Negotiations on importing gas from Iran progressing -- Bahrain
Power & Materials    9/15/2007 2:12:00 PM

MANAMA, Sep 15 (KUNA) -- Bahraini Minister of Gas and Oil Abdul-Hussein Mirza revealed Saturday that talks with the Iranian side on importing natural gas was achieving progress.
Mirza told Bahrain News Agency (BNA) that an Iranian delegation held successful talks with the technical Bahraini committee regarding the importation of natural gas from Iran.
The talks were preparatory and focused on the means to transport gas from Iran to Bahrain, indicated the minister, revealing that one of the ideas was to use sea pipelines to transport gas.
"It is too early to estimate the price of Iranian gas," said Mirza, indicating that the next round of talks would be held in Tehran to discuss the price.
If all went well, Iranian gas would be delivered to Bahrain within three years from the time of working out the agreement. (end) aam.gta KUNA 151412 Sep 07NNNN
