BAGHDAD, AUG 14 (KUNA) -- Four US soldiers were killed and one more was
injured in two separate incidents in Mosul and Baghdad, the US army in Iraq
said on Tuesday.
A statement by the Multi-National Forces (MNF) said three Task Force
Lightning Soldiers died as a result of injuries sustained from an explosion
near their vehicle while conducting operations in Ninewah Province north of
Iraq on Monday.
One other Soldier was injured during the incident and was transported to a
Coalition medical facility for treatment, MNF added.
Furthermore, a Multi-National Division-Baghdad Soldier was killed after his
patrol was attacked during combat operations in a western section of the Iraqi
capital yesterday.
These incidents bring up the death toll of US soldiers killed since the
onset of the war in Iraq in 2003 to 3,692 troops, out of which 33 were killed
in august.(end)
