CAIRO, Aug 11 (KUNA) -- The executive office of the Arab Environment
Ministers' Council will hold its 38th session at the Arab League Secretariat
on November 7 and 8.
Egypt's Environment Minister Maged George said in a press release the
meeting will discuss environment issues in the Arab world and renew commitment
to the Arab Initiative for Sustainable Development.
The meeting will try to make that initiative an essential axis of the work
of Arab specialized organizations in line with the recommendations of the
Algiers Arab Summit of 2005, the minister pointed out.
It will also tackle issues regarding cooperation with United Nations
agencies, notably the UN Environment Program (UNEP) and the West Asia
Socio-Economic Committee, to implement the projects of environment protection
and economic development in the Arab region.
The meeting will also highlight ways of creating atmospheres conducive to
economic growth and encouraging the private investments in Arab countries, he
added.

holding extra-ordinary meetings by the specialized Arab ministerial councils
