Iraqi PM arrives in Iran for talks

TEHRAN, Aug 8 (KUNA) -- Iraqi Prime Minister Nouri Al-Maliki arrived here from Turkey on Wednesday to begin a three-day official visit during which he will discuss bilateral relations and regional issues with Iranian officials.
This is Al-Maliki's second visit to the Persian state since becoming premier.
In Ankara, the premier had held talks with his counterpart Recep Tayyip Erdogan and other senior officials that focused on security issues involving the two states and the latest developments in Iraq.
Iraq and Turkey also signed a document on countering the threat of Kurdish rebels in northern Iraq during Al-Maliki's visit. (end) mw.ema KUNA 081339 Aug 07NNNN
