IRBIL, Aug 2 (KUNA) -- An Iraqi soldier was killed and three civilians were
wounded in blasts in the north Iraqi city of Kirkuk on Thursday.
An IED targeted a military patrol near Al-Awashra village on the
Kirkuk-Beji west of the city killing one soldier, a source in the Iraqi police
told the Kuwait News Agency (KUNA).
A second blast hit a military uniforms and supplies shop near the Old
Courts in Kirkuk where three civilians were wounded and taken to hospitals.
One more IED targeted a car escorting the deputy police commissioner in the
area of Tarik Baghdad in Kirkuk. No one was injured.
Meanwhile, a joint police and military force raided a village in eastern
Kirkuk where 117 suspects were apprehended and 11 Klahshinkovs were found.
