BAGHDAD, Aug 2 (KUNA) -- US President George W. Bush met with the Iraqi
Prime Minister Nouri Al-Maliki via digital video confernce (DVC) yesterday and
discussed the security and political situation in Iraq, a statement from
Al-Maliki's office said Thursday.
The officials agreed that the joint security operations between the
Multi-National Force and the Iraqi forces have been successful in hindering
terrorist attacks in Iraq.
Regarding the pull-out of the Sunni bloc from Al-Maliki's government, the
prime minister told Bush talks with the legislators would continue and
politicians would continue to look out for Iraqi interests.
Both leaders agreed on the importance of engaging with neighboring
countries to increase stability and security in Iraq.
According to the statement, Bush said he would continue to support
Al-Maliki's coalition government.(end)
