US soldier killed, three hostages freed in Iraq

BAGHDAD, July 23 (KUNA) -- US Army announced Monday one of its soldiers was killed in Baghdad with a bomb that exploded near his vehicle on Saturday.
The US Army did not reveal any more information about the attack.
Meanwhile, the army said its forces freed three Iraqi civilian hostages, who were held in a home in Samaraa, and arrested four of their kidnappers.
A US Army release said US soldiers witnessed the kidnapping of two of the civilians, chased the kidnappers to a home, freeing two hostages and a third person who was a captive there. (end) ahh.ris KUNA 231032 Jul 07NNNN
