Central India encounter leaves 20 Maoists dead

NEW DELHI, July 10 (KUNA) -- At least 20 Maoists have been killed and nine security personnel injured in an encounter in a forest in Dantewada district of Central Indian state of Chhattisgarh.
As many as 27 out of the 115 Indian security personnel are missing in the Elampatti-Regadgatta forest in Dantewada district, where the encounter took place Monday night, news agency Press Trust of India reported Tuesday.
There are no reports of any casualty of security personnel, the agency said.
Three of the nine security personnel who were injured in the encounter are in critical condition.
