IRBIL, July 8 (KUNA) -- A Turkmen magazine editor-in-chief was assassinated
by anonymous gunmen in Kirkuk northern Iraq, while three bodies were found
scattered throughout the city, an Iraqi police source told KUNA on Sunday.
The journalist was shot dead when gunmen attacked his workplace in central
Kirkuk, which resulted in his immediate death, the source said.
He added that local police patrols had found bodies of Iraqi civilians
dispersed around the city.
The bodies had fire shot traces on them and one was decapitated, the source
said.
Furthermore, 14 suspects, including two on the most wanted list, were
detained in an operation jointly conducted by Iraqi and multinational forces
in southern Kirkuk, the source added. (end)
