Curfew imposed in southern Baghdad

BAGHDAD, July 1 (KUNA) -- Security authorities imposed a curfew Sunday in southern areas of the Iraq capital, Baghdad.
A short statement by the Multi-National Force (MNF) said pedestrians and vehicles would not be allowed on the streets, thereby allowing the execution of operations in East Rasheed district.
The curfew was imposed upon directive from Iraq security forces and is limited to his area alone, it said.
Earlier today, a booby-trapped car had exploded in the area, but no casualties were reported.
The curfew, according to the statement, will continue to 5:00 a.m. (local time) on Monday. (end) mhg.ema KUNA 011516 Jul 07NNNN
