BAGHDAD, June 3 (KUNA) -- Some 19 suspects have been arrested in ongoing
search operations for two US soldiers that went missing in the southern
Baghdad town of Al-Mahmoudiah, said the US Army on Sunday.
An army statement said US and Iraqi forces were engaged in a wide-scale
search operation in the Rushdi Mulla area, adding that the suspects were being
interrogated.
Three US soldiers disappeared some three weeks ago near the town of
Al-Mahmoudiah, known as an insurgency hotbed, after their military patrol was
ambushed. Four US soldiers and an Iraqi interpreter were also killed in the
assault.
The corpse of one of the three soldiers was found ten days ago in
Al-Musayeb. (end)
