BAGHDAD, May 30 (KUNA) -- An Iraqi government source said on Wednesday that
US President George Bush discussed over the phone Wednesday with Iraqi Prime
Minister Nouri al-Maliki and Vice President Dr Tareq Al-Hashemi the latest
developments in Iraq.
According to the source, the talks centered on means of activating the
national reconciliation.
Al-Maliki received here today the visiting US Senator Joe Liberman and
discussed with him the continuous United States assistance to his country.
Liberaman was one of the independent senators (Democrat) who backed the war
in Iraq to topple Saddam Hussein. (end)
