CAIRO, May 29 (KUNA) -- Iran is ready to restore full diplomatic relations
with Egypt, an Iranian diplomat said in remarks pubished on Tuesday.
Iran's ambassador to Syria Mohammad Hassan Akhtari said in an interview
with Al-Ahram that Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad hoped to visit Egypt
after working out an agreement on on re-establishing the ties.
Akhtari also stressed on importance of resolving any dispute between the
two countries, in light of mutual interests.
The Iranian Ambassador confirmed existence of Egyptian-Iranian
disagreements, but he added that the Iranian government and people want to
restore the relations with Egypt because of its major role in the region.
Iran is ready to improve relations and eliminate all obstacles that stand
in the face of efforts for restoring full bilateral relations, Akhtari said.
